White on White

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS, our sponsor this week is Happy Little Stampers with a $15 gift certificate.

Our challenge this week created a challenge for me at this time of year. I usually do a Christmas card with a white on white challenge with a snow theme,  but I really wasn't feeling Christmas so it was difficult to think something different and then I saw a white hugs die cut that wasn't used on another card, I just needed the negative space and ding the light bulb came on.
I started with a white card base of course, the hugs die cut from the Cuddles & Hugs die set by Concord & 9th and also the Cuddles & Hugs stamp set by Concord & 9th.
I inked with the heart image with versa mark ink and embossed it in white of  course, I used the heart die from the Heartstrings Dies to cut it out.
Using foam tape I popped the heart up in the center of the card and placed the hugs die on top.

You're Amazing!

Wow! I can't believe its already time for our second Encouragement Squad challenge. Congratulations to the winner from last month.
Our challenge is to use the inspiration photo below to create a card to send someone a word of encouragement as they go through a struggle. It doesn't have to be cancer it can be for someone who has lost someone, lost a job, or just needs a word of encouragement. The real challenge is will you mail it? I love to go to the mailbox and find happy mail instead of or with the bills, always makes my heart happy.

There is a prize involved as well, a $25 voucher to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and if you use CAS-ual Fridays products and are the winner it will increase to $50

To make my card I started with a top folding card base and, a watercolor panel and a piece of designer paper. I stamped the floral image from the set Mon Ami with archival ink ad the watercolored it using strokes of Daniel Smith watercolors as inspiration from the brushes. To add a little flair, I added some dots to the image using a white gel pen.

CAS June Reminder

It's the 17th of the month and time for the Calling All Sistahs reminder to check your girls. I have quite a few friends fighting this horrible disease at the present time, so please get your mammograms so you are not one of them.
As I have said before I lost my mom to breast cancer at a young age and I am a survivor myself so caner hits home with me.

Cancer can be beaten if caught early so please do self exams and get your mammograms once a year if thats what the doctor suggests. You can also help find a cure by purchasing products from the Calling All Sistahs line where 50% of the profits go towards breast cancer research.

Now for my reminder card. I started with a white top folding card base, a stitched panel and a pink scalloped mat. I stamped the butterfly from the set Be with versa mark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. Next I punched a circle in a post it note and placed it on the panel centering the butterfly and then used distress oxide ink in Worn Lipstick to fill it in and then spritzed it with water. To finish the card I added the sentiment from the Word Ribbon set.
